United Way Bay Area - CalFresh Community Works Program (CCWP)

SFHSA is partnering with United Way Bay Area to help CalFresh recipients meet work requirements by coordinating volunteer host sites through the launch of our CalFresh Community Works Program (CCWP), a low barrier way to maintain benefits. CBO partner host sites in this model supervise CalFresh participants, track hours through a central online portal, and receive compensation when serving 15 or more individuals. Interested CBOs should complete the interest form and/or join UWBA’s next webinar on this topic: Friday, October 30, 10:00 – 11:00 AM:

Attached is the deck from the deck from this webinar for CBOs who cannot attend and flyer.

Separately, organizations can also offer direct volunteer opportunities through “Self-Initiated” Workfare. In this case, CalFresh participants find and track their own placements, and the CBOs simply verifies the volunteer hours using the CalFresh Volunteer Work Hours Verification Form.

Finally, CBOs can support participants to Manage Benefits Online
