Feel free to share out with your networks.

We are deeply disappointed that the Executive Cabinet has chosen to significantly underfund and understaff supports for newcomer immigrant students. At a time when immigrants are increasingly under threat in our country, dismantling systems that have historically produced outcomes for newcomers that exceed national averages runs counter to the stated values of our district. It is both inequitable and immoral to dismantle our secondary newcomer programs and pathways.

We ask that the district maintain the number of seats previously held in the 2025–2026 school year for secondary newcomer programs in the current year, while clearly naming and establishing a strategic portfolio of pathways and schools that demonstrably produce strong outcomes for newcomer immigrant students.
